Why ‘Halo’ is One of The Most Popular Video Games in The World

Halo is a futuristic war game that was first released in 2001 on the Xbox Classic, and the first game was called Halo Combat Evolved; the Halo storyline revolves around a genetically modified human (Spartan) called Master Chief, and he works with the human soldiers to combat the threat of the Alien race. These species of Aliens live on a planet called ‘Halo’ – a ring spaced world and weapon that was originally constructed by the forerunners to wipe out a dangerous zombie-like species called ‘The Flood’; the Halo world has the capability of destroying all life in the galaxy. If you want to feel like a real ‘Spartan’, then you could go on a Tank Driving experience day, this activity is completely safe, but it will also make you feel like you’re in a halo mission; you can find out more here – https://www.armourgeddon.co.uk/tank-driving-experience.html.

Halo – Combat Evolved

The first game starts with a military ship called the Pillar of Autumn that has just travelled through ‘slipspace’, and that is how they discover ‘Halo’; they soon come face to face with the threat of the Aliens as they begin taking over the Pillar of Autumn. The ship and the soldiers are soon under threat from the Aliens which begin an intergalactic war. This game was an instant hit, and in a few years had sold over 3 million copies of the game; it was different from other previous war games, and during this time gameplay was really evolving, so no other games were of competition to Halo during that period. Halo is published by Microsoft game Studios – why not check out Microsofts other top games?

Halo 2

This game was released in 2004 and was a follow-up game to Halo: Combat Evolved. The game begins with Master Chief and Sargeant Johnson getting awarded for their bravery, but then it shows the punishment of the Alien (Covenant) Elite Commander for not stopping the attack and destruction of Halo, he is then stripped of his rank and gets tortured by other Covenant species – Brutes. He gets offered a lifeline by the High Prophets who give him the rank of Arbiter, but he instead rebels against the covenant race and eventually joins forces with the master Chief. This game has much better graphics than Halo – Combat Evolved, and even includes levels where you get to play as the ‘Covenant’ rebellion.

Xbox 360

Halo 3 was the first Halo game to be released on Xbox 360, a new platform with much better graphics and improved gameplay. The game starts off with Sergeant Johnson and the Arbiter finding the Master Chief on Earth after he fell from a Covenant ship to escape capture. Once he is awoken by Sergeant Johnson, he sees movements and becomes suspicious, and he then discovers the Arbiter that had turned himself invisible; sergeant Johnson reassures him that he is working with them.

After Halo 3, more games were released on the Xbox 360 such as Halo 3 ODST, Halo Reach, Halo Wars, and Halo 4, these games carried on through the Halo story apart from Halo Reach which was a prequel that told the story before the first Halo game.

Xbox One

Since the release of Xbox One, there have been many Halo games that are playable with this console; these include Halo Wars 2, Halo Infinite, Halo – Spartan Assault, Halo 5 – Guardians, and Halo – Master Cheif Collection.
